Ingredients: - 1 lb (450 g) all-purpose flour - 2 sticks (1 cup/226 g) unsalted butter, softened - 1/2 cup (120 ml) warm milk - 2 teaspoons active dry yeast - 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 2 large eggs - 1 cup (160 g) chopped apples - 1 cup (160 g) seedless grapes, halved - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt together. Add the butter and rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Add the yeast mixture and eggs to the flour mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour until it doubles in size.
5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 9x13 inch (23x33 cm) baking dish with parchment paper.
6. Divide the dough into two parts. Roll out one part into a rectangle that fits the size of the baking dish. Place it in the baking dish and prick it all over with a fork.
7. Spread the chopped apples and halved grapes over the dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
8. Roll out the second part of the dough and place it on top of the fruit. Press the edges together to seal.
9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
10. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
