How to BS 180 (Backside 180 on a Skateboard)

From freem

Performing a BS 180 (Backside 180) on a skateboard can be a challenging trick, but with practice and determination, it can be mastered. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Start by riding at a moderate speed, and approach the obstacle (such as a curb, ramp, or bank) at a slight angle.

2. As you approach the obstacle, crouch down slightly and shift your weight towards your back foot.

3. Use your back foot to pop the tail of the board off the ground while simultaneously turning your shoulders and hips in the opposite direction of the spin (towards your front foot).

4. As the board begins to lift off the ground, continue to turn your shoulders and hips in the opposite direction of the spin, while dragging your front foot up towards the nose of the board.

5. As the board completes its spin, use your feet to level out the board and land with your knees bent to absorb the impact.

6. Ride away smoothly and confidently!

Remember, practice is key to mastering any skateboard trick. Start by practicing the motions without the board and then try them on the board. As you become more comfortable, increase your speed and try the trick on different obstacles. And most importantly, always wear the appropriate safety gear, including a helmet, knee and elbow pads.
