How to Apply Matte Eyeshadow

From freem

Applying matte eyeshadow can help create a soft, natural look or add depth and dimension to your eye makeup. Here are some tips on how to apply matte eyeshadow:

1. Start with a clean, dry eyelid: Use an eyeshadow primer or a light layer of foundation to help your eyeshadow stay put all day.

2. Choose your colors: Decide on which colors you want to use and make sure they complement each other. Matte eyeshadows work well together and with shimmery shadows, too.

3. Apply a base color: Using a flat eyeshadow brush, apply a light-colored matte eyeshadow all over your lid. This will help set a base for the other colors and will make blending easier.

4. Apply the crease color: Using a crease brush, apply a medium to a dark matte eyeshadow in the crease of your eye, using windshield wiper motions. Start at the outer corner and blend towards the center of your eye.

5. Blend, blend, blend: Use a fluffy blending brush to blend the crease color into the base color. You want to create a seamless transition between the two colors.

6. Apply the outer corner color: Using a small, pointed brush, apply a darker matte eyeshadow to the outer corner of your eye. This will add depth and dimension to your eye makeup.

7. Line your eyes: Use a thin, angled brush to apply a matte eyeshadow as eyeliner along your lash line. This will help define your eyes without the harshness of a liquid or gel liner.

8. Finish with mascara: Apply mascara to your top and bottom lashes to complete the look.

Remember, practice makes perfect, so don't be afraid to experiment with different colors and techniques to find the look that works best for you.
