To add a mask in Paint Shop Pro, follow these steps:

1. Open the image you want to work with in Paint Shop Pro. 2. Create a new layer by clicking on the "New Layer" button at the bottom of the Layers Palette. 3. Select the layer you just created by clicking on it in the Layers Palette. 4. Click on the "Masks" tab in the Layers Palette. 5. Click on the "New Mask Layer" button at the bottom of the Layers Palette. 6. In the "New Mask Layer" dialog box, choose the type of mask you want to create. You can choose from grayscale, luminance, and alpha channel masks. 7. Click "OK" to create the new mask layer. 8. Select the brush tool from the Tools Palette. 9. Choose the color black as your foreground color. 10. Paint over the areas of the mask where you want to hide parts of the layer below. 11. Save your image with the mask layer by choosing "File" > "Save As" and selecting a file format that supports layers, such as PSD or PSPIMAGE.

That's it! You've now added a mask to your image in Paint Shop Pro.
