How to Add Subtitles to a Movie or Video on VLC

From freem

VLC media player is a free and open-source media player that supports a wide range of video and audio formats. One of its useful features is the ability to add subtitles to a movie or video. Here's how you can do it:

1. Open VLC media player and play the video file you want to add subtitles to.

2. Download the subtitle file for the video. You can find subtitle files for movies and TV shows on websites like OpenSubtitles.org, Subscene.com, and Podnapisi.net. Make sure to download a subtitle file that matches the language of the video.

3. Save the subtitle file in the same folder as the video file. The subtitle file should have the same name as the video file, except for the extension. For example, if the video file is named "myvideo.mp4", the subtitle file should be named "myvideo.srt".

4. Click on the "Subtitles" option in the menu bar and select "Add Subtitle File".

5. Navigate to the folder where you saved the subtitle file, select it, and click "Open".

6. The subtitles should now appear on the video. You can adjust the position, font size, and other settings by going to "Subtitles" > "Subtitle Track" > "Subtitle Settings".

7. If the subtitles don't appear, make sure that the subtitle file has the correct name and extension and that it's saved in the same folder as the video file.

That's it! Now you can enjoy your movie or video with subtitles using VLC media player.
