How to Back Dive

From freem

Back diving is a type of diving where you jump backwards off a diving board or platform and land in the water with your back facing down. It can be an exciting and fun activity, but it's important to learn proper technique and safety precautions before attempting it. Here are the steps to back dive:

1. Start by standing at the edge of the diving board with your toes pointing slightly over the edge. Keep your arms relaxed by your sides.

2. Look straight ahead and keep your head in line with your body. This will help you maintain balance as you jump.

3. Bend your knees slightly and push off the diving board with your feet. As you jump, throw your arms up and back behind your head.

4. As you are airborne, arch your back and extend your arms back over your head. This will help you rotate backwards in the air.

5. Keep your eyes on the water as you rotate and prepare to enter the water. You should aim to enter the water with your arms by your sides and your back arched.

6. As you enter the water, make sure to keep your legs together and your toes pointed. This will help you enter the water cleanly and avoid injury.

7. Once you are in the water, swim to the side of the pool or the ladder to exit.

Remember to practice back diving in a safe and controlled environment with supervision from a trained professional. It's important to start with low heights and work your way up as you gain confidence and skill. With practice, you can become a proficient back diver and enjoy this thrilling activity.
