How to Add a New Book to the Goodreads Database

From freem

Adding a new book to the Goodreads database is a straightforward process that can be done in a few simple steps:

1. Sign in to your Goodreads account. If you don't have an account yet, create one by visiting Goodreads.com and following the prompts.

2. Click on the "Add a Book" button located in the upper-right corner of the website.

3. Enter the book's information. You'll need to provide the book's title, author, ISBN (if available), and any other relevant details, such as the publisher, publication date, and edition.

4. Upload a cover image. If the book already has a cover image in the Goodreads database, you can use it. Otherwise, you can upload a new image by clicking on the "Upload a Cover Image" button.

5. Add a description. You can add a summary of the book, its genre, and any other details that you think would be helpful for potential readers.

6. Add tags. Goodreads allows you to add tags to help other users find the book. Tags are descriptive words or phrases that summarize the book's content or themes.

7. Click "Save." Once you're done adding all the necessary information, click on the "Save" button to add the book to the Goodreads database.

Note that it may take some time for the book to appear in the database, as Goodreads staff need to review the information before it goes live. Once the book has been approved, you'll be able to see it on Goodreads and share it with other users.
