Baking acorn squash is a simple and delicious way to prepare this nutritious vegetable. Here's how to do it:

Ingredients: - 1 acorn squash - 1 tablespoon olive oil - Salt and pepper, to taste - Optional toppings, such as butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, or maple syrup

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Cut the acorn squash in half from stem to bottom, using a sharp knife. Scoop out the seeds and stringy pulp from the center of each half using a spoon.

3. Rub the inside of each half with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Place the squash halves, cut-side down, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

5. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the squash is tender and easily pierced with a fork.

6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the squash cool for a few minutes. You can now top it with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, or maple syrup, if desired.

7. Serve the baked acorn squash halves immediately as a side dish or enjoy as a light and healthy meal.

Enjoy your delicious baked acorn squash!
