Baking your own wholemeal bread can be a fun and rewarding experience, not to mention delicious! Here's a simple recipe for baking wholemeal bread: Ingredients: - 500g wholemeal flour - 1 tsp salt - 1 tbsp sugar - 7g dried yeast - 300ml lukewarm water - 2 tbsp olive oil Instructions: 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the wholemeal flour, salt, sugar, and dried yeast. 2. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the lukewarm water and olive oil. 3. Mix the ingredients together until a dough forms. 4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. 5. Place the dough back into the mixing bowl and cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap. Let it rest in a warm, draft-free place for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size. 6. Preheat your oven to 200Β°C/180Β°C fan/gas mark 6. 7. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a loaf. Place it into a greased loaf tin and let it rest for another 15 minutes. 8. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom. 9. Remove the bread from the tin and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving. Enjoy your freshly baked wholemeal bread!
