Editing How to Add a Yahoo! Account to a Mac



To add a Yahoo! account to a Mac, follow these steps:

1. Open the "Mail" application on your Mac. You can do this by clicking on the "Mail" icon in your dock or by searching for "Mail" using Spotlight (the magnifying glass icon in the top-right corner of your screen).

2. Click on the "Mail" menu in the top-left corner of the screen and select "Preferences".

3. In the Preferences window, click on the "Accounts" tab at the top.

4. Click on the "+" button at the bottom-left of the window to add a new account.

5. Select "Yahoo!" from the list of available account types.

6. Enter your Yahoo! email address and password in the fields provided.

7. Click on "Sign In" to proceed.

8. The Mail app will attempt to automatically configure your Yahoo! account settings. If it is successful, your account will be added and you can start using it right away.

9. If the automatic configuration does not work, you may need to manually enter your Yahoo! account settings. You can find these settings by logging into your Yahoo! account on the web and going to the "Account Info" page. From there, click on "Account Security" and then "Generate app password". Use this app password when manually configuring your Yahoo! account in Mail.

10. Once your Yahoo! account is added to Mail, you can access it by clicking on the account name in the sidebar on the left-hand side of the Mail app window.
