Editing How to Activate Telnet in Windows



Telnet is a command-line protocol used to connect to remote computers and execute commands. Telnet is disabled by default on Windows operating systems, but it can be activated by following these steps:

1. Open the Control Panel by searching for it in the Start menu or by pressing the Windows key + X and selecting Control Panel.

2. Click on Programs.

3. Click on Turn Windows features on or off.

4. Scroll down and find Telnet Client. Check the box next to it.

5. Click OK to save changes.

6. Wait for the installation to complete. This may take a few minutes.

7. Once the installation is complete, open the Command Prompt by searching for it in the Start menu or by pressing the Windows key + R and typing "cmd" in the Run dialog box.

8. Type "telnet" followed by the IP address or hostname of the remote computer you want to connect to. For example: telnet 192.168.0.1 or telnet example.com

9. Press Enter and wait for the connection to be established.

Note: It is recommended to use SSH instead of Telnet as Telnet is an insecure protocol that sends data in plain text, which can be intercepted by attackers.
