Many mid-skilled jobs will be automated or forced into contract/gig models. Those who reskill into AI-augmented, creative, managerial, or specialized technical roles can do well. Those who donβt will face downward mobility. * In emerging economies, parts of the middle class may grow as access to technology and education widens, but gains are fragile. Risks: housing costs, healthcare, and stagnant wages will produce stress; mental-health burden and social fragmentation rise. Net effect: The middle will split β a smaller, highly skilled middle that benefits; a larger precarious segment that loses ground.
