==== 2. What you should reserve in advance ==== Since you “want the full experience” and like moderate activity, good food, and a drink or two, here’s where advance booking matters: ===== Ports where excursions do book up ===== # Ushuaia (Jan 21, 10:00–21:00) Popular, often sell-out tours: - Tierra del Fuego National Park & End-of-the-World Train – scenic, mostly easy walking. - Beagle Channel catamaran cruise – great for sea birds and sometimes sea lions; low-impact. - City + viewpoint tours for nice photo stops with minimal walking. # Port Stanley, Falkland Islands (Jan 26) - Volunteer Point or other penguin-colony excursions are legendary and can sell out early; they also have limited vehicles. Reddit<ref>{{cite web|title=Reddit|url=https://www.reddit.com/r/Cruise/comments/1or6gb3/anyone_done_the_14day_celebrity_equinox/|publisher=reddit.com|access-date=2026-01-06}}</ref> - The ride can be bumpy 4x4 but is mostly sit-down; activity level is usually “moderate” (walking on uneven ground, no major hiking). # Puerto Madryn (Jan 28) - Depending on season/itinerary, look for Valdés Peninsula or local wildlife/coastal tours. - Some excursions focus more on scenery and light walking; others are longer wildlife outings. # Montevideo (Jan 30) - City tours, wine tours, or food & culture tours are great if you enjoy good food and wine and prefer modest walking. All of those are the ones you should pre-book via Celebrity’s Cruise Planner once excursions open for your sailing. Third-party excursions (via well-reviewed local operators) can also sell out; just be mindful of all-aboard times.
