=== Quick legitimate troubleshooting for Plex remote access === * Make sure the Plex Server is signed in to the same Plex account as the client you’re using and that Remote Access is enabled in Settings → Server → Remote Access. * If you use manual port forwarding, confirm TCP port 32400 (default) is forwarded to the server’s LAN IP and the server reports remote access as Successfully connected. * If you’re proxying through Caddy, ensure the proxy is forwarding traffic to Plex’s local port and not rewriting or blocking required headers. Also confirm TLS termination is correct and that the server sees the real client IP if that matters. * Check the server’s network environment (double NAT, ISP CGNAT, VPNs) — double NAT or CGNAT can prevent direct connections and cause Plex to fall back to relay/bridge behavior. * Update Plex Media Server to the latest version — sometimes bugs cause unexpected paywall or streaming behavior. * Try a desktop browser on the same account (via plex.tv/web) to confirm the server is reachable and streams play there; this helps isolate whether it’s a client-side policy vs server connectivity.
